A weekend for dancing!

Just a quick post to update you all on my final weekend in Uppsala. I finish work today at SLU so have heaps of things to do but thought I'd add some pics anyway.

I started the weekend with a music festival in Stockholm with my friend Lovisa. It was called popaganda and was held in the outdoor area of a swimming complex. It was mostly Swedish bands but it was a lot of fun!
This last pic is Lovisa with some typical Swedish sweets - like long sticks of different flavoured tastiness.

Then on Saturday, I spent the day around Uppsala seeing a few last minute things like the weekend markets.

Then in the late arvo, Lovisa and her boyfriend Mattias picked me up and we went to a party just outside Stockholm in a really pretty area full of lakes. The party was amazing - there was a marquee set up in the garden with lots of tables inside with name cards. And there was a fabulous bbq (or grill!) and all the food was set out with labels so you didn't have to guess what it was. AND, the best bit was that Maria, whose party it was, had made up a song book with lots of traditional Swedish songs that everyone was expected to sing together. And they did! Soon I will post a video....

Did I mention that it was a dress up party?

Then on Sunday, I spent a lovely day wandering around Stockholm. I went to Skansen which is kind of like an outdoor museum with Swedish houses etc. AND it has a zoo! With MOOOOOOSES and wolves and reindeer! So here are some assorted pics:
