Not a loner any more!

In my final days in Uppsala, lots of really nice things happened. The first, and most exciting event was that Matt finally arrived in Sweden to start his 5 weeks of holidays and travel with me in Europe. Yay! He really only had 1.5 days in Uppsala, but we made the most of the time by visiting the Slott, Domkyrka and the Botanical Gardens.

I also saved up a selection of Sweden's finest foodstuffs for him to try!
No, no, don't eat the reindeer!

In the early evening before Matt arrived, I also managed to meet up with a friend of a friend - Megan - an Australian who was visiting Sweden too. We had a grand old time as only two Australians in a foreign country can - drinking beer in a bar in Uppsala by the river. Especially entertaining was the fact that found out that tap beer is called Fat öl in Swedish! A good explanation for putting on weight while travelling in Sweden perhaps?

Finally, in my list of nice things that happened in my last days in Uppsala, was that Lovisa and Mattias invited Matt and me over for dinner for traditional Swedish pickled herring and potatoes. Mmmmm!
