Melbourne and Hobart
Seems like months ago that I went back to Australia and actually, considering it was at the beginning of August, it has been quite a while. Naughty naughty, not keeping up with blog. So, to fill in some gaps:
I went back to Australia primarily to go to my graduation in Hobart (yes, finally got capped!) but decided to turn it into a bit of a working holiday. So I spent a couple of days in Melbourne with my friend Claire (that's Dr Claire to those in the know) and then spent a week in Hobart catching up with friends, going to a conference and meeting with various work people. It was a really good week - I managed to talk my flatmate Karen into coming with me on her way back to Germany, and of course mum and dad came over for the graduation bit. So there was lots of fun to be had.
But we did stop for amazing hot chocolates with Persian fairy floss on top
With Haidee in a cute little wine bar
Luna Park in St Kilda
Had to go on the ferris wheel at Luna Park-still a child at heart!

I had a fabulous time in Hobart. Thanks to Smithski for having us to stay in her house with a beautiful view. It was wonderful to catch up with everyone, especially those who are not so good at keeping in touch by email. In lots of ways it felt like I had never really left..... until I drove past my old house on Hill St and saw a massive boat in the driveway and realised it was not my house any more. That was sad - I loved our little house. And the garage was just the right size for Fergus. Speaking of Fergus - I got to hang out with him a lot when I was in Hobart.... parp parp! (Thanks Lucy and Kate!). And he's still as hoony as ever.
