Sporting adventures

Seems it is the season for live sporting events. Two weekends ago, we got tickets to the semi-final of the national netball cup to see our team, the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic defeat the Auckland Diamonds. It was very exciting - somehow, we managed to get the most amazing seats - right in the very front row next to the court. Very cool -it was almost like being part of the team!
It was a good game too - quite close for the first couple of quarters and we got to see lots of the Silver Ferns (the NZ national team) playing up close - Irene van Dyke, Jodi Henry and Laura Langman all play for the Magic and Maria Tutaia and Anna Scarlett play for the Diamonds. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the game - my camera ran out of batteries just before it started! But it was heaps of fun.

Then, last weekend, we went up to Hamilton to see Canada take on the All Blacks. Canada got well and truely beaten but it was a fun night, despite the subzero temperatures.
