Copenhagen: a boat tour, tivoli ....and a real castle in Helsingor!

Just wanted to post a couple of quick pictures to update our travels. Late last week, I finished my work in Denmark and our real holidays began. Matt and I spent a couple of days checking out the beautiful Copenhagen including a fabulous boat tour and a peek at the national museum Viking History exhibit which was fabulous.
We also discovered the hard way just how expensive food and drinks are in Copenhagen - after paying NZ$30 for two beers, we decided that cheep and dodgy hotdogs would have to do for dinner!!

As well as looking around Copenhagen, we took the train to the lovely city of Helsingor to visit the castle where Hamlet was set! I was pretty excited about this - we've seen a few castles now, but this one was supposed to be ace! AND, it really lived up to expectations. There was a moat and battlement, cannons and even underground dungeons complete with a huge statue protecting them! Very cool.

We also managed to fit in an evening visit to Tivoli, Copenhagen's famous amusement park. It was a great - a lovely old amusement park with some fun kiddy rides for me and some more adventurous ones for Matt. Plus a pantomime stage and loads of other exciting things to see.
